All consultants have extensive interviewing and counseling experience and are able to make both teenagers and their parents feel very much at ease. The goal of McLeod Consulting Services is to help students find the educational placement in which they will be the happiest and most fulfilled in all aspects of their lives. Our experience shows if we achieve that, everything else falls into place. We have no business relationship with any school, college or university, and that means we do not recommend a school unless our research and experience demonstrate its worthiness. Tuition fees and other expenses mean a major financial investment for families, and our goal is client satisfaction from every angle.  Our Services Janet McLeod and her colleagues are proud to offer the following services:  Presentations to groups of students and parents on the basics of college and university applications  Private consultations to discuss individual interests, preferences and strengths with the goal of refining school and college selection to a manageable number which can best meet the student's needs  Development of strategies for each student to increase chances of acceptance  Development of travel plans to recommended schools that fit with students' schedules and budgets Assistance to students in application completion, including review of forms, critique and revision of essays, and review of portfolios.  Assistance to guidance counselors in advising students, preparing application materials, and developing school profiles.  Workshops for teachers in writing effective letters of recommendation.  Assistance to students in high school course selection in order to maximize preparation for chosen programs  Practice in interviewing techniques and role playing  Strategies for acquiring financial aid.  In-person appointments for students in the Toronto area and telephone appointments for those at a distance.  Ongoing cooperation with school guidance departments to ensure effective teamwork support for each student from parents, school, and college admissions counselor.  Assistance in making the final choice and selecting residence.  Follow-up to ensure students' satisfaction.
