What is Janet McLeod's Background?Janet McLeod began in 1975 as a guidance counselor at Branksome Hall, a college preparatory school for girls in Toronto. Her regular duties included personal counseling, course selection and assistance with Ontario college and university applications. Because of her own educational and teaching background in the U.S., she soon assumed responsibility for all applications to colleges and universities in the United States. She became increasingly adept at advising students on their best choices and in helping students develop the most successful application materials.After resigning from Branksome in 1981, Janet McLeod began advising students independently, and in 1990 McLeod Consulting Services was born. Through the years, over 400 students have benefited from receiving personalized counseling services in choosing their post-secondary educational opportunities, and while most are Canadian, many are Americans, and an increasing number are from other countries. Ms. McLeod has kept in touch with her students over many years, and former students, some now graduated and in exciting careers, others still enrolled at various schools, are willing to share their experiences with new clients to help them choose the right schools, colleges and university programs. Ms. McLeod travels regularly to schools, colleges and universities all over North America to keep updated with the latest trends and make contact with college admissions departments. Because Ms. McLeod has the personal contacts at so many colleges, she has gained a reputation for integrity and for making good matches between student and college.
